The tap is near your water meter at the front boundary. Turn it clockwise until it stops.

Kill the power to wet areas

If water is near power points or lights, switch those circuits off at the board. Don't stand in water to do it.

Move what you can, photograph it

Lift furniture and rugs clear, then take photos before you mop. Your insurer will want them.
